LinkedIn Image Sizes (2026): The Cheat Sheet

Quick answer: The three sizes you need: 1584 x 396 for your banner, 1080 x 1350 for a post image, and 400 x 400 for your profile picture.
Most of the rest are variations on those three. Wrong dimensions are the fastest way to make a good profile look careless: a stretched banner, a headshot missing the top of your head, a post image squeezed into a shape LinkedIn never meant it for. Every dimension is in the table below, with a link to the full breakdown for each one.
The master cheat sheet
| Image | Dimensions | Ratio | File limit | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Profile picture | 400 x 400 px (min) | 1:1 | 8 MB, JPG or PNG | Crops to a circle; center your face |
| Personal banner | 1584 x 396 px | 4:1 | 8 MB, JPG or PNG | Center the content; the edges get cropped |
| Company page cover | 1512 x 256 px | ~6:1 | 3 MB, JPG or PNG | Wider and shorter than a personal banner |
| Post image, portrait | 1080 x 1350 px | 4:5 | 5 MB | Most mobile feed space; best for single images |
| Post image, square | 1080 x 1080 px | 1:1 | 5 MB | Use for multi-image posts |
| Post image, landscape | 1200 x 627 px | 1.91:1 | 5 MB | Link previews and shared articles |
- Portrait wins the feed. A 1080 x 1350 image is taller than a square, so it claims more of the phone screen where most people scroll. Use it for single-image posts.
- Multi-image posts go square. Add a second image and LinkedIn crops them all into near-square grid tiles. Design sets as 1080 x 1080 from the start.
- Banners and profile pictures share the same trap. Both crop. Keep the important part of a banner centered, and center your face in a profile picture so the circle does not clip it.
- Company covers are their own size. 1512 x 256, not the personal 1584 x 396. You will still see 1128 x 191 quoted in older guides; LinkedIn has moved on from it.

Frequently asked questions
- What are the main LinkedIn image sizes?
- Banner 1584 x 396, post image 1080 x 1350 (portrait), and profile picture 400 x 400. Company page covers are 1512 x 256.
- What is the best LinkedIn post image size in 2026?
- 1080 x 1350 pixels, a 4:5 portrait, for a single image. It takes up the most space in the mobile feed. Use 1200 x 627 for link previews.
- What size is a LinkedIn banner?
- 1584 x 396 pixels, a 4:1 ratio, under 8 MB. Keep text and logos centered, because the edges and the bottom-left corner get cropped or covered.
- What size should my LinkedIn profile picture be?
- At least 400 x 400 pixels and square. It displays as a circle, so center your face and leave a margin.
- Do LinkedIn image sizes change often?
- The core sizes have held steady through 2026. The change worth knowing is the company page cover, now 1512 x 256 rather than the older 1128 x 191.
- What file formats does LinkedIn accept?
- JPG and PNG everywhere. Post images can be up to 5 MB, banners and profile pictures up to 8 MB, and company page covers up to 3 MB. Profile and banner photos cannot be GIFs.
Nail the sizes, then the posts
Getting every image right makes your profile look deliberate. But a polished profile is a shopfront, and it only pays off when the feed behind it is worth following.
