# I Tested the 10 Best LinkedIn Analytics Tools — Ranked (2026)

> I scored 10 tools on the six things a serious poster needs: metric depth, whether it closes the loop from insight to your next post, account safety, LinkedIn-specific data instead of generic cross-network reporting, data portability, and price-to-value.

## The Shield-shaped hole

**TL;DR**:

After testing the 10 LinkedIn analytics tools people rely on, [Oiti](/), the AI clone for LinkedIn ranked #1 on value. Oiti reads your last 100 posts and your website, builds an AI clone of what you actually believe, and remembers every correction / feedback you give to it — the one tool here where you review a point of view once and stop babysitting the drafts. Pair this with Oiti's deep knowledge base (to dump meeting notes, thesis, books, youtube videos) and deep analytics and scheduling using LinkedIn's official apis and no other tool comes even close. **AuthoredUp #2** for the deepest post-level breakdowns, if you accept the Chrome-extension risk. **Taplio #3** if you want analytics inside a full growth platform with a 60k-post benchmark.

In May 2026, Shield, the tool most people meant when they said "LinkedIn analytics," shut down.

Its co-founders posted a farewell: LinkedIn and Google made its cookie-based Chrome extension unviable, and rather than fight it, they wound the product down and gave users about 30 days to export before the historical data was deleted.

And they're not the first.

LinkedIn's cracking down on this category fast: but when you post three times a week.... then go to LinkedIn's native analytics, see one post did 12,000 impressions and another did 480, you have no idea why any of it worked. There's no engagement-rate number, no side-by-side comparison, and studying the trend across a year of posts is painful. So you learn nothing you can repeat. And even on the rare week you do spot the pattern, you're still staring at an empty composer for the next post, because analytics tells you what happened and then leaves you there.

That gap is the whole reason this category exists.

I spent six years ghostwriting on LinkedIn for 50 to 60 founders and consultants, and I've tried every single linkedin analytics tool in the world — only to land on this list. Here's the list of the 10 best LinkedIn analytics tools, ranked.

## The 10 best LinkedIn analytics tools at a glance

## The 6 things I scored on

I judged these on the six things that decide whether analytics actually changes what you post next, not vanity dashboards.

### 1. Metric depth.

How far past raw impressions does it go? Engagement rate, reach, follower trend, audience demographics, and post-level breakdowns by format, length, and timing.

### 2. Does it close the loop?

A dashboard tells you what happened. Can the tool act on it, or does it hand you a chart and leave you at an empty composer?

### 3. Account safety.

Official LinkedIn APIs or a Chrome extension hooking your session cookies? Shield's shutdown proved which model survives.

### 4. LinkedIn-specificity.

Metrics itemized for LinkedIn, or a generic cross-network report where LinkedIn is one column among five?

### 5. Data portability and history.

Can you export, and how far back can you actually study the data? Native LinkedIn makes reading post history over a long stretch genuinely painful.

### 6. Price-to-value.

For a solo creator, not a 40-seat enterprise buying a listening suite.

## The ranking

### 1. [Oiti](https://www.ghostwriting-ai.com) — Posters who want to see what's working and act on it

**Category**: Analytics + AI content engine - **Pricing**: $49 Creator / $79 Pro (early-adopter yearly: $245 / $395) - **Trial**: 7-day trial, no caps - **LinkedIn-native**: Yes

**TL;DR**: Every metric LinkedIn exposes, sortable over 12 months, plus the engine that writes the next post

**What sets it apart**: Every metric LinkedIn exposes, sortable over 12 months, plus the engine that writes the next post

Oiti surfaces virtually every metric LinkedIn exposes about your posts — impressions, reach, follower growth, average engagement rate, saves, link clicks, and the less-visible metrics Chrome-extension tools can't reliably pull — in one dashboard, sortable and filterable across a rolling 12-month window so you read the trend and not just this week's spike. It can do that because it runs on LinkedIn's official Marketing Developer Platform APIs, and that official access is exactly why it surfaces post data extension-based tools miss or approximate. Plus Oiti creates exceptional Content because the writing is grounded in a 3,000-word AI Clone of you, built in about 30 seconds from your last 100 posts, your website, and an ICP painpoint search, so the next draft reads like you — written in the same place you just read your numbers.

There's also a Track Creators panel that syncs the posts of creators in your niche every week, so you're watching what's working across the niche while you measure your own. No Chrome extension, so no throttle risk on the account you're measuring.

Two of the people I've worked with ran on this stack. Yash Tak, founder at Standard Volumes, put out one roughly 300-word post: "250k views, 2300+ likes, 400+ connection requests, and more demos than I can handle. All from one post. In a tough niche too." Ipsita Dhar pulled "15k views, 300+ comments, and 15 qualified leads." I won't claim the analytics caused those numbers, but neither of them was staring at a chart wondering what to do next; they were writing the next post off what the last one told them.

**Key features**:

- **Knowledge Base + parallel research agents**: Add a PDF or paste the text of a customer call, and the agents fan out across your KB, your memory, and the live web before writing. This is where domain substance comes from.
![Oiti's Knowledge Base screen — a searchable table of synced LinkedIn posts marked Ready, with Add Material and Sync LinkedIn Posts controls, above the line 'Everything added here will be used as reference material by Oiti.'](/comparisons/competitors/oiti/product-screenshots/knowledge-base.webp) — Oiti's Knowledge Base — everything you add becomes reference material grounding each draft.
- **Trendjacking built in**: Search your ICP's painpoints and viral posts across X, Reddit, and the deep web, then draft off what your buyers care about this week.
![Oiti's Track Creators panel — add LinkedIn creators in your niche and Oiti fetches their recent posts and auto-syncs weekly; three tracked creators shown.](/comparisons/competitors/oiti/product-screenshots/for-you-feed-tracker.webp) — Track Creators — add creators in your niche and Oiti auto-syncs their recent posts weekly to draft off what your buyers care about.
- **One-click infographics**: Powered by Nano Banana Pro 3.1 and GPT Image 2. No Canva, no design skills.
- **Multi-account scheduling via LinkedIn's official APIs**: Pro at $79/mo covers 3 personal profiles plus 10+ company pages. No Chrome extension, so no throttle risk.
![Oiti's scheduling calendar in month view (May 2026, 8 events) with per-account selectors and a left nav for Calendar, Inspiration Library, and per-persona Knowledge Base and Dynamic Memories.](/comparisons/competitors/oiti/product-screenshots/full-feature-scheduling-calendar.webp) — Oiti's scheduling calendar — publish across personal profiles and company pages on official APIs.
- **17,300+ outlier templates and hooks**: Drawn from 100M+ views, filled by your persona instead of left generic.
![Oiti's Inspiration Library — a searchable grid of viral LinkedIn posts (showing 60 of 10,640) with a Use as Inspiration button on each.](/comparisons/competitors/oiti/product-screenshots/viral-linkedin-templates.webp) — Oiti's Inspiration Library — 10,640 viral posts, one click turns any into a persona-filled template.

**Inside Oiti**:

- ![Oiti's chat composer — a conversation on the left building a LinkedIn post, with a gatherContext step completed and an Active artifact, beside a live LinkedIn post preview ready to Schedule or Publish.](/comparisons/competitors/oiti/product-screenshots/content-creation-flow.webp) — Oiti's chat composer drafting a post beside a live LinkedIn preview.
- ![Oiti's analytics dashboard — total impressions, reach, and followers up top with 12-month charts for posts published, net followers gained, and average engagement rate.](/comparisons/competitors/oiti/product-screenshots/analytics-dashboard.webp) — Oiti's analytics — impressions, reach, follower growth, and engagement over 12 months.

**Best for**: The strongest fit if you want analytics to change what you post next, not just another dashboard to check.

**Pros**:

- **Metrics and writing in one product**: Virtually every post metric LinkedIn exposes — saves and link clicks included — sortable over 12 months, and the same tool drafts and schedules your next post, grounded in you.
- **It gets sharper, not staler**: Every correction persists in long-term memory, so by your third or fourth post the drafts read like you typed them.

**Cons**:

- **LinkedIn-only**: No cross-network reporting. If you also post on X or run other channels, this isn't your single pane of glass.
- **Not a single-post lab**: It surfaces the full metric set to drive your next post, not a dedicated side-by-side post-comparison and readability workbench; if that specific view is what you're after, a pure-play like AuthoredUp is built for it. The LinkedIn data itself isn't the gap.

### 2. [AuthoredUp](https://authoredup.com) — Writers who want a pure-play's dedicated post-level breakdown views

**Category**: Pure-play analytics - **Pricing**: ~$20/mo - **Trial**: 14-day free trial - **LinkedIn-native**: Yes

**What sets it apart**: Best surviving pure-play analytics, but it's a Chrome extension in the category Shield just exited

I've used AuthoredUp for years, first as a ghostwriter running everything through it for the LinkedIn preview. Its analytics are the real reason it belongs at #2 now. You get post performance broken down by type, timing, length, and readability, side-by-side post comparison, saves and sends and reach, plus CSV export and an analytics API. Those breakdown views are more finely sliced than Oiti's dashboard presents them, though AuthoredUp isn't pulling more LinkedIn post data than Oiti does on official APIs — Oiti surfaces the same metrics, hidden ones included, just without AuthoredUp's dedicated comparison UI. With Shield gone it's the closest thing left to a dedicated LinkedIn analytics product. The catch is the one that defines this whole list: AuthoredUp is a Chrome extension. To be fair, it says it only reads the page data already on your screen and doesn't touch your login cookies, so its architecture isn't Shield's and I'm not predicting it's next. But it's still in the extension category LinkedIn made unviable for Shield in May 2026, and that's the category that already lost one major player.

**Key features**:

- **Deepest post-level breakdowns on the list**: Performance broken down by type, timing, length, and readability, plus true side-by-side post comparison.
- **Editor and live preview built in**: The formatter and LinkedIn preview it's known for, alongside the analytics.
![AuthoredUp's editor beside a live LinkedIn preview of the post, with Hooks, Endings, and Snippets tabs and mobile/desktop preview toggles.](/comparisons/competitors/authoredup/product-screenshots/authoredup-editor.webp) — AuthoredUp's editor with a live LinkedIn preview and formatter controls.
- **CSV export + analytics API**: Real data portability, deeper and more queryable than native LinkedIn's basic export.

**Best for**: The pick if you want its dedicated breakdown-and-comparison views and accept the extension risk; pair it with Oiti if you also want the post those numbers should inform.

**Pros**:

- **Deepest post-level breakdowns on the list**: Type, timing, length, readability, and true side-by-side comparison.
- **Real data portability**: CSV export and an analytics API — deeper and more queryable than native LinkedIn's basic export.

**Cons**:

- **It's a Chrome extension, the category Shield was in**: Oiti's approach: official LinkedIn APIs only, so there's no extension on the account to be shut off.
- **No AI writing grounded in you**: It has an editor and scheduling, but nothing that drafts in your voice off your history. Oiti's approach: the core metrics plus an AI Clone that drafts and schedules the next post.

### 3. [Taplio](https://taplio.com) — People who want analytics inside a full growth platform

**Category**: LinkedIn growth platform - **Pricing**: $39 / $69 / $199/mo - **Trial**: 7-day trial - **LinkedIn-native**: Yes

**What sets it apart**: Analytics plus a benchmark on 60k+ posts, secondary to the growth tooling

I paid for Taplio back in 2021 when it was one of the only LinkedIn tools that existed, and its analytics have quietly become a decent reason to keep it. You get a dashboard plus a "LinkedIn Benchmark" that analyzes 60,000+ posts a month so you can see how your numbers stack up against the field, which is context native analytics never gives you. But analytics is secondary here. Taplio is really a content-plus-outbound platform, and the analytics is a supporting feature, not the point. The Starter tier includes scheduling and analytics but zero AI writing, so the "read it and act on it" loop costs you the $69 Growth tier at least. On the writing quality, Paweł M. (Co-Founder & CEO, G2, 2.5/5): "some features feel less accurate than advertised. Also, the pricing is not the most competitive."

**Key features**:

- **Benchmark against 60k+ posts a month**: A "LinkedIn Benchmark" analyzes 60,000+ posts a month so you see how your numbers stack up against the field — context native analytics never gives you.
- **Analytics inside a full growth platform**: Analytics, content, and outbound in one dashboard, with a big inspiration library to remix.
![Taplio's Inspiration tab — a 'Search for any topic and find viral posts' bar above a grid of viral LinkedIn posts, each with an author, like count, and an Edit & post button.](/comparisons/competitors/taplio/product-screenshots/taplio-inspiration-tab.webp) — Taplio's Inspiration tab — search any topic and pull viral LinkedIn posts to remix.
- **Scheduling and analytics from the Starter tier**: Both are included on Starter, though AI writing sits behind the $69 Growth tier.

**Best for**: Worth it if you want one dashboard for analytics and outbound and can absorb the extension risk; overkill if analytics is all you came for.

**Pros**:

- **Benchmark against 60k+ posts a month**: Real competitive context, not just your own line going up.
- **Widest scope on the list**: Analytics, content, and outbound in one dashboard.

**Cons**:

- **Analytics is a side feature, and the AI writing sits behind higher tiers**: Oiti's approach: metrics and the writing engine in one product from the entry tier.
- **The outbound half runs on a Chrome extension**: Oiti's approach: official APIs only, so the account you're measuring can't get throttled.

### 4. [Supergrow](https://www.supergrow.ai) — Budget posters who mostly need safe scheduling with a report

**Category**: Scheduler + writer - **Pricing**: $19 / $39 / $139/mo - **Trial**: Free trial - **LinkedIn-native**: Yes

**What sets it apart**: Safe and cheap, but analytics is the module reviewers ding

I used Supergrow for content and scheduling back in 2023 and signed up again in 2026 for this. It's the closest peer to Oiti on safety: official LinkedIn API, no extension, a well-built multi-account backbone, and profile analytics with a weekly report on the Pro tier. For a budget poster who mostly wants safe scheduling and a light performance read, the $19 entry is hard to beat. But analytics is exactly the module Supergrow's own users flag. Rohan K. (Statistician, G2, 4/5, titled "Streamlined Post Scheduling With Some Analytics Challenges"): "the analytics side of things is something that I think could do some improvements... being able to see performance over time, best performing posts."

**Key features**:

- **Official-API multi-account backbone**: A well-built multi-account scheduler on LinkedIn's official API — no extension.
![Supergrow's content calendar in week view (October 2025) — empty daily 9:00 AM posting slots with a Week/Month toggle and Time Slot Settings.](/comparisons/competitors/supergrow/product-screenshots/supergrow-scheduling-view.webp) — Supergrow's scheduling calendar — week view with per-day posting slots.
- **Weekly performance report**: Profile analytics with a weekly report on the Pro tier.
- **$19 entry**: The budget floor for a safe scheduling-plus-report setup.

**Best for**: A fine safe scheduler with a basic report; not the pick if the analytics itself is what you're paying for.

**Pros**:

- **Official-API safe and cheap**: ToS-safe scheduling from $19, a genuine peer to Oiti on account safety.
- **Weekly performance report**: Enough of a read for a light-touch poster.

**Cons**:

- **Analytics depth is the recurring complaint**: Oiti's approach: impressions, reach, followers, and engagement rate charted over a full 12 months. ([source](https://www.g2.com/products/supergrow/reviews))
- **No memory, so the writing doesn't compound**: Oiti's approach: long-term memory persists every edit across sessions.

### 5. [LinkedIn native analytics](https://www.linkedin.com) — Everyone, as the free baseline before you pay for anything

**Category**: Native analytics - **Pricing**: Free - **Trial**: Built into your account - **LinkedIn-native**: Yes

**What sets it apart**: Free and accurate, but no engagement rate, no comparison, hard to study over time

Start here. LinkedIn's own analytics are free, accurate, and better than people give them credit for: post impressions, engagement, follower growth, and audience demographics by job title, industry, and location, richer still on a Company Page. For a lot of posters this is enough. The reason a paid category exists on top of it is a specific set of gaps. LinkedIn won't calculate an engagement rate for you, there's no side-by-side post comparison or format breakdown, and studying performance across a long stretch of posts is painful. So you can see this week clearly and you can't easily study the last year. And it does nothing to help you write the next post.

**Key features**:

- **Free and first-party accurate**: No tool sits closer to the source data than LinkedIn itself.
- **Real demographic slicing**: Job title, industry, and location on your audience, free — richer still on a Company Page.
- **Impressions, engagement, follower growth**: The core numbers, built into your account with nothing to install.

**Best for**: The right free starting point; you graduate off it the moment you need engagement rates, post comparison, or a tool that writes the next post.

**Pros**:

- **Free and first-party accurate**: No tool sits closer to the source data than LinkedIn itself.
- **Real demographic slicing**: Job title, industry, and location on your audience, free.

**Cons**:

- **Hard to study performance over time**: Oiti's approach: a rolling 12-month chart where the trend reads at a glance.
- **No engagement rate, no post comparison, no help writing**: Oiti's approach: the metrics computed for you, plus the engine that drafts the next post.

### 6. [SocialPilot](https://www.socialpilot.co) — Small teams wanting affordable multi-network reporting

**Category**: Multi-network scheduler - **Pricing**: ~$25.50 / $42.50 / $85/mo - **Trial**: Free trial - **LinkedIn-native**: Partial

**What sets it apart**: Solid cross-network analytics, not LinkedIn-itemized

An affordable multi-network scheduler with solid "detailed social media analytics" across all plans, but it isn't LinkedIn-itemized and API access is Enterprise-only. Roughly $25.50 / $42.50 / $85/mo (their site geolocates pricing, so confirm at signup).

**Key features**:

- **Detailed cross-network analytics on all plans**: Social media analytics across every network, included on all tiers.
- **Affordable multi-network scheduling**: Roughly $25.50 / $42.50 / $85/mo (pricing geolocates, so confirm at signup).
- **API access is Enterprise-only**: Programmatic access is gated to the top tier.

**Best for**: Small teams that want affordable cross-network reporting and don't need LinkedIn itemized.

**Pros**:

- **Affordable multi-network analytics**: Solid detailed reporting across every network on all plans.
- **Team-friendly pricing**: A cheap entry for small teams managing several channels.

**Cons**:

- **Not LinkedIn-itemized**: A generic cross-network report where LinkedIn is one column. Oiti's approach: metrics itemized for LinkedIn on official APIs, plus the engine that writes the next post.
- **API access is Enterprise-only**: Programmatic access is locked behind the top tier.

### 7. [Hootsuite](https://www.hootsuite.com) — Enterprises that need a custom cross-network report builder

**Category**: Enterprise social suite - **Pricing**: $99 / $199 / $399 per seat - **Trial**: Free trial - **LinkedIn-native**: Partial

**What sets it apart**: Powerful reporting, priced and built for big teams

A powerful custom cross-network report builder built and priced for big teams, where LinkedIn is one channel in the mix rather than the focus. $99 / $199 / $399 per seat; Zaid E. (Capterra, 1/5) called it "overpriced for the value... Buffer offers the same value for half the cost."

**Key features**:

- **Custom cross-network report builder**: Powerful, configurable reporting across every network you run.
- **Enterprise-grade multi-network coverage**: Built for big teams managing many channels at once.
- **Per-seat pricing**: $99 / $199 / $399 per seat.

**Best for**: Enterprise teams that need a configurable cross-network report builder and have the budget for per-seat pricing.

**Pros**:

- **Powerful custom report builder**: Configurable reporting across every network.
- **Broad cross-network coverage**: One suite for many channels.

**Cons**:

- **Built and priced for big teams, LinkedIn is one channel among many**: Oiti's approach: LinkedIn-specific metrics on official APIs, plus the engine that writes the next post.
- **Reviewers call it overpriced**: Zaid E. (Capterra, 1/5): "overpriced for the value... Buffer offers the same value for half the cost." ([source](https://www.capterra.com/p/135305/Hootsuite/reviews/))

### 8. [Sprout Social](https://sproutsocial.com) — Enterprises wanting listening plus premium analytics

**Category**: Enterprise analytics + listening - **Pricing**: $199 / $299 / $399 per seat - **Trial**: Free trial - **LinkedIn-native**: Partial

**What sets it apart**: Deep analytics, expensive, and locked annual contracts

Enterprise-grade analytics with social listening and a Premium Analytics add-on, seriously deep and priced to match, on locked annual contracts. $199 / $299 / $399 per seat (an Essentials tier at $79 also shows up); at 1.8/5 across 82 Trustpilot reviews, Karen J summed up the mood: "outdated with cut back support staff yet charging more... look at the newer options."

**Key features**:

- **Enterprise-grade analytics**: Seriously deep reporting with a Premium Analytics add-on.
- **Social listening built in**: Listening alongside the analytics suite.
- **Priced to match**: $199 / $299 / $399 per seat on locked annual contracts.

**Best for**: Enterprises that want deep analytics plus listening and can commit to locked annual contracts.

**Pros**:

- **Deep enterprise analytics**: Premium Analytics add-on and serious depth.
- **Social listening included**: Listening bundled with the analytics suite.

**Cons**:

- **Expensive, on locked annual contracts**: Karen J (Trustpilot): "outdated with cut back support staff yet charging more... look at the newer options." ([source](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/sproutsocial.com))
- **Overkill for a solo LinkedIn poster**: Cross-network and enterprise-first. Oiti's approach: LinkedIn-specific metrics plus a writer grounded in you, at creator pricing.

### 9. [Vista Social](https://vistasocial.com) — Agencies wanting white-label reports across 9 networks

**Category**: Multi-network + white-label - **Pricing**: $79 / $149 / $349/mo - **Trial**: Free trial - **LinkedIn-native**: Partial

**What sets it apart**: Broad coverage, general reports, not LinkedIn-specialized

Broad coverage across nine networks with white-label reports agencies like, but the analytics is general social reporting, not LinkedIn-specialized. $79 / $149 / $349/mo (this ran high against Vista's cheaper reputation, so confirm before you commit).

**Key features**:

- **Nine-network coverage**: Broad reach across every major network in one place.
- **White-label reports**: Agency-friendly reporting agencies like.
- **Mid-tier pricing**: $79 / $149 / $349/mo (ran high vs Vista's cheaper reputation, so confirm first).

**Best for**: Agencies that want broad white-label reporting across many networks, not a LinkedIn specialist.

**Pros**:

- **Broad nine-network coverage**: One tool for every major channel.
- **White-label reports**: Agencies like the client-ready reporting.

**Cons**:

- **General social reporting, not LinkedIn-specialized**: Oiti's approach: metrics itemized for LinkedIn on official APIs, plus the engine that writes the next post.
- **Pricing ran high at check**: It came in above Vista's cheaper reputation, so confirm before you commit.

### 10. [DemandBird](https://demandbird.com) — Ex-Inlytics users looking for where the tool went

**Category**: Multi-network analytics - **Pricing**: See note (behind a wall) - **Trial**: See site - **LinkedIn-native**: Partial

**What sets it apart**: The old Inlytics, rebranded into a broader 9-network platform

If you're searching for Inlytics, this is where it went: inlytics.io now redirects to DemandBird, a broader nine-network management and analytics platform, so the standalone LinkedIn-only analytics tool no longer exists under that name. Its current pricing was behind a wall when I checked, so I won't quote a number.

**Key features**:

- **The rebranded Inlytics**: inlytics.io now redirects to DemandBird.
- **Nine-network platform**: A broader management and analytics platform, not LinkedIn-only anymore.
- **Pricing behind a wall**: Current pricing was gated at check, so no number to quote.

**Best for**: Ex-Inlytics users tracking down where the tool went, now inside a broader nine-network platform.

**Pros**:

- **Broader nine-network platform**: Management plus analytics across many networks.
- **Continuity for Inlytics users**: The old tool lives on under a new name.

**Cons**:

- **No longer a LinkedIn-only analytics tool**: The standalone Inlytics is gone. Oiti's approach: LinkedIn-specific metrics on official APIs, plus a writer grounded in you.
- **Pricing behind a wall**: No public number at check, so hard to evaluate on value.

## How to choose

- **If you want analytics that changes what you post next** -> [Oiti](/), because it puts the metrics and an AI writer grounded in you in the same product.

- **If you want a dedicated side-by-side post-comparison and readability view, and accept the extension risk** -> AuthoredUp, the last real pure-play standing after Shield.

- **If you're worried about your account after watching Shield die** -> Anything on official APIs: [Oiti](/), Supergrow, or SocialPilot. Read the "how it connects" column before you pay.

- **If you're on a budget, or not sure you need to pay at all** -> Start with free native analytics, then add [Oiti's trial](https://tryapp.ghostwriting-ai.com/sign-up) and compare.

## FAQ

### What is the best LinkedIn analytics tool in 2026?

For most posters, [Oiti](/), because it shows virtually every post metric LinkedIn exposes — impressions, reach, follower growth, engagement rate, saves, and link clicks, over 12 months — and gives you an AI writer, grounded in you, to act on them in the same product. If you specifically want a dedicated side-by-side post-comparison and readability view, AuthoredUp (#2) is built around that, though it isn't pulling more LinkedIn post data than Oiti — and it's a Chrome extension, the category LinkedIn made unviable for Shield. If you report on more networks than LinkedIn, see the [best social media analytics tools](/comparisons/best-social-media-analytics-tools).

### What happened to Shield analytics?

Shield shut down in mid-May 2026. Its co-founders posted a farewell explaining that LinkedIn and Google made its cookie-based Chrome extension architecture unviable, and rather than fight it, they wound the product down and gave users roughly 30 days to export their historical data before it was deleted. It's the clearest reason to favor tools built on LinkedIn's official APIs over browser extensions, however good the extension is.

### Isn't LinkedIn's free native analytics enough?

For a casual poster, often yes, and you should exhaust it first. Native analytics gives you impressions, engagement, follower growth, and audience demographics for free and first-party accurate. You outgrow it when you hit its gaps: no engagement-rate calculation, no side-by-side post comparison, and studying performance over a long stretch is painful. And it does nothing to help you write the next post, which is where a tool like [Oiti](/) earns its price.

### Will an analytics tool get my LinkedIn account restricted?

It depends entirely on how it connects. Tools built on LinkedIn's official APIs ([Oiti](/), Supergrow, SocialPilot, Hootsuite, Sprout Social) don't hook your session cookies, so they carry far less of the risk that gets accounts throttled. Chrome-extension tools that read your logged-in session are the fragile category, and Shield's May 2026 shutdown is the cautionary tale. Treat the connection method as a hard filter, not a footnote. I applied the same filter to the [best LinkedIn scheduling tools](/comparisons/best-linkedin-scheduling-tools).

## Verdict

A dashboard that tells you what happened and then leaves you at an empty composer is only half a tool. The dedicated analytics products package the data into more granular breakdown views, but they aren't pulling more of your LinkedIn post data than Oiti's official-API dashboard — and after Shield's shutdown the strongest of them, AuthoredUp, is in the extension category LinkedIn just moved against. Native analytics is free and worth starting with, until you need engagement rates, comparison, and history it won't give you. If you want analytics that actually changes what you post next, Oiti is the strongest fit: the core metrics charted over 12 months, on official APIs so there's no extension on the account to throttle, plus the engine that writes and schedules the next post grounded in you. Early-adopter yearly pricing: $49 Creator -> $245/year, $79 Pro -> $395/year. Active as of 2026-08.
